  • atool 0.38.0
atool is a script for managing file archives of various types (tar, tar+gzip, zip etc). The main command is aunpack, which extracts files from an archive. It overcomes the problem of extracting files from an archive without checking whether the files were located in a subdirectory or in the top directory of the archive, resulting in files scattered all over the place by first extracting to a new directory. If there was only a single file in the archive, that file is moved to the original directory. It also prevents local files from being overwritten by mistake. The other commands are apack for creating archives, als for listing files in archives, and acat for extracting files to standard out.

    Changes: Minor bugfixes.

  • Yioop! 0.72
Yioop! is a PHP search engine. Yioop! can be configured as either a general purpose search engine for the whole Web or it can be configured to provide search results for a set of URLs or domains. It supports indexing several file formats such as HTML, PDF, DOC, PPT, RTF, RSS, XML, SVG, PNG, JPG, BMP, GIF, and sitemaps. The Yioop! crawler can be deployed on one or many machines. On low-end hardware with cable Internet, four machines can download a million pages every couple of days. Crawling respects robots.txt including Crawl-delay. Yioop! crawls are stored in a Web archive format that is easy to move around. Crawling can be done on one machine and the results deployed elsewhere. Yioop! supports mixing of crawls. Yioop! comes with a search front end that can be localized as desired using a GUI. This GUI supports RTL languages. Management of crawls can also be done using this GUI. Yioop! can be configured in a straightforward manner to make use of memcache if available.

Changes: This version adds support for crawling xlsx, pptx, and epub. The HTML processor now supports the base tag. The code for the front-end (not crawler) has been changed to work in cPanel hosting environments with only PHP 5.2. Filecache support, in addition to memcached support, has been added. Yioop! can now filter out hosts from search results, if needed, after indexing has been done. Improvements have been made to the start and stop of the crawling process. A command-line query tool has been added.

  • Puppet 2.7.3
Puppet lets you centrally manage every important aspect of your system using a cross-platform specification language that manages all the separate elements normally aggregated in different files, including users, cron jobs, and hosts, along with obviously discrete elements like packages, services, and files. Its simple declarative specification language provides powerful classing abilities for drawing out the similarities between hosts while allowing them to be as specific as necessary, and it handles dependency and prerequisite relationships between objects clearly and explicitly.

  • Gargoyle Router Management Utility 1.4.0
Gargoyle is an interface for small, widely available routers such as the Linksys WRT54G series and the La Fonera. It provides functionality above and beyond what the default software provides including sophisticated dynamic DNS, quality of service, and bandwidth monitoring tools. The primary goal is to provide a polished interface for these advanced tools that is at least as easy to configure as any existing firmware. This project is based on top of OpenWrt, but unlike other Web interfaces for OpenWrt it places a strong focus an usability and is meant for average users, not just power users.

Changes: This release marks the next stable branch of Gargoyle Router firmware. Since the last stable (1.2) release, support for wireless N dual band routers has been introduced. In addition to wireless N support, this release includes bandwidth quotas with shaping/throttling, dynamic QoS, USB storage device support, and wake-on-LAN functionality. Numerous bugfixes and other minor improvements have also been made.

  • The Epeios XML preprocessor 0.4.0 (2011-08-14)
The "expp" tool (the Epeios XML preprocessor) reads an XML file to transform it to another XML file. It simplifies the writing of XML files by allowing the handling of macros, the definition and testing of variables, the inclusion of files, and more. This is done by writing, directly in the source XML file, predefined tags owned by a given namespace, tags which are then recognized and handled by the "expp" tool.

Changes: This version is internationalized. Available languages are French and English, but other languages can be easily added.

  • hwmultd 0.1.1
hwmultd is a daemon which, when run in server mode, periodically polls some hardware device, like an entropy source, and multicasts that information. Alternatively, hwmultd can run in client mode, listening for multicasted information and then acting accordingly, like adding gathered entropy to the local pool. Its simple plugin system allows hwmultd to be agnostic with respect to the hardware, which could include devices such as temperature probes or time sources.

Changes: This is the initial public release. hwmultd is under heavy development, but is being used in production environments. The only major limitation is that no security has been implemented and currently it is easy to spoof an hwmultd server.

  • moneyGuru 2.3.10
moneyGuru is a personal finance management application. It allows you to evaluate your financial situation so that you can make informed (and thus better) decisions. Most finance applications have the same goal, but moneyGuru's difference is in the way it achieves it. Rather than having reports which you have to configure (or find out which pre-configured report is the right one), your important financial data (net worth, profit) is constantly up-to-date and "in your face". This allows you to constantly make informed decision rather than doing so periodically.

Changes: A crash on moving the Total row in the Transactions view was fixed. A bug causing bad dates to come through import checks was fixed. A bug preventing some accounts' information from being edited was fixed.

  • Sandbox 2.1
Sandbox is a personal Web site package that provides you with a blog, image gallery, file download area, and the ability to create miscellaneous custom Web pages. Many other blog/Web site packages like Wordpress only do one thing. Most blog packages do not also provide a good image gallery or a good downloads module. You can get these things in separate packages, but integrating them into one site is difficult, involving code bridges and incompatible skinning systems. Sandbox aims to have all of these things integrated into one package.

Changes: Major back end improvements were made to allow for more database drivers to be used. A standardized query interface is now in place to handle proper escaping on all queries. HTML5 and IPv6 are now properly supported.

  • PowerDNS Administrator 1.22
PDNS-Admin, or PowerDNS Administrator, is a Web-based script which aids in administering domains and records for the PowerDNS SQL name server software. PDNS-Admin is targeted mainly toward individual domain owners, but should be robust enough to be used in a larger capacity by an ISP or other big host. For those who may not know, PowerDNS is a domain name server application, much like BIND, but offering alternative backends for the storage of domain information.

Changes: Various issues reported at the SVN repository were fixed.

  • SALI 1.4.5
SALI (Sara Automatic Linux Installer) is a tool that allows you to install Linux on multiple machines at once. It supports installation via BitTorrent. SALI originates from SystemImager and still uses the same philosophy. SALI was created because the kernel/initrd and BOEL utilities of SystemImager are outdated; specifically grub2 support is lacking. SALI also upgrades all software to the newest versions and replaces some software components. The hardware in the system is detected with udev.

Changes: Support for PPC64 was improved. This was tested with SLES 11.1 on Power 6. Module blacklisting via kernel parameters was added.
